Add IndustryLens to Cline
Add IndustryLens to Cline (VS Code / JetBrains).
Install
Cline → MCP Servers → Configure (or edit cline_mcp_settings.json). Use a remote / streamable-HTTP server.
cline_mcp_settings.json
{
"mcpServers": {
"industrylens": {
"type": "streamableHttp",
"url": "https://api.industry-lens.com/mcp/public"
}
}
}Steps
- In Cline, open MCP Servers → Configure MCP Servers.
- Add the industrylens entry (see the block above).
- Save; Cline reconnects and lists the tools.
Verify it worked
Cline’s MCP panel shows industrylens connected; ask "Who competes with apollo.io?".
Try these prompts
- “Who competes with apollo.io?”
- “What did Clay recently change in its go-to-market?”
- “Give me a competitive profile of ramp.com.”
- “List recent strategic moves for ZoomInfo.”
- “Find competitors for cognism.com.”
Troubleshooting
Server won’t connect
Ensure type is "streamableHttp" and the URL is exactly https://api.industry-lens.com/mcp/public.
Where is the config?
Use Cline’s "Configure MCP Servers" button — it opens the JSON file for you.
Tools ignored
Ask an explicitly competitive question so Cline reaches for the tools.
