The Sales Intelligence Briefing15 October 2026

ZoomInfo and Apollo both shipped agent platforms. Here is what to say next.

Two agentic GTM launches, a run of MCP connectors, and a batch of published prices. This week's brief pairs every move with a talk track your sellers can use, plus what buyers are saying about the data tools they already own.

The waterfall enrichment didn't produce more complete records for us, it was just convenience.

This Week in Competitive Moves

The move: ZoomInfo launched Agent Teams, packaging specialised AI agents to run revenue motions end to end (inbound routing, deal expansion, renewal saves) rather than single tasks. It sits alongside Copilot and GTM Studio in one agentic-platform pitch. Days later, Apollo.io used ApolloNext to launch an Intelligence Layer, Builder Studio (beta) and Messaging OS, and positioned itself as an 'AI GTM System'.

Read together, both are selling consolidation: fewer tools, more automation, one vendor to blame. That is a budget-capture argument rather than a feature argument, and it will surface in your renewals as well as your net-new deals.

One-line talk track: when you hear 'they run GTM end to end with agents', say: 'Then your routing rules, your deal scoring and your renewal playbook all sit inside one vendor's model. Who owns the error when an agent expands a deal your team would have disqualified?'

Talk Tracks for the Week

1. MCP connectors (Cognism, Contify). Both shipped MCP servers that let assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude query their data and intelligence directly. When you hear: 'their data plugs straight into ChatGPT and Claude.' Say: 'So does your competitor's. The question is what the assistant is allowed to see, and what it logs. If a connector can read intent data and pipeline notes, who reviews what leaves your tenant?' Then ask for field-level permissions and query logs. Vague answers are your opening.

2. Published prices (Ahrefs Brand Radar, Goodie AI). Ahrefs now frames Brand Radar as two tracks: configured Custom Prompts at €47/mo and the no-setup AI Visibility Index across a 470M-prompt index at €179/mo. Goodie AI published Core at $399/mo, Pro at $999/mo and an agency tier. When you hear: 'their visibility module is only €47 a month.' Say: 'That is the configured prompts tier. The index is €179. Compare like tier to like tier, not headline to platform.' When you hear 'no teaser pricing', say: 'Then ask which tier the demo actually ran on. A $399 floor with a $999 Pro tier is still a jump.'

3. Extensibility and action layers (Crayon, Evertune, Profound, Scrunch). Crayon launched an Insights API so customers can build their own compete apps. Evertune now names Prompt, Insights and Ads agents. Profound shipped its September batch (Dynamic Bot Rendering, Microsoft 365 integration, Citation Decay) and Scrunch added GA4 conversions to AI Referrals. When you hear: 'they have an API, so we will build our own compete app.' Say: 'An API is only as good as the collection behind it. Ask who re-checks that competitor's pricing page when it changes on a Friday afternoon.' When you hear 'the platform tells us what to do next', say: 'Evertune's agents go straight to ads. We prove what changed first, with the source attached, and your team decides the response.'

What Buyers Are Saying

Three themes are running through this fortnight's low-rated reviews on G2, each rated between 1.0 and 2.0.

Convenience gets sold as coverage. A Clay reviewer (1.0) said the waterfall enrichment ran fine but did not produce more complete records. A Lusha reviewer complained of buggy behaviour, data lost from uploaded CSV files and templated support replies. Enrichment is now a commodity; completeness per record is the argument.

AI trims effort, it does not remove it. A ZoomInfo reviewer (2.0) called the data dependable and the intent signals useful, then said the workflows and AI only reduced manual work somewhat. Expect that line to appear in your next evaluation.

Commercial terms are the real objection. An Apollo.io reviewer (1.0) reported billing errors blocking access with roughly 1,360 API credits still on the account, with support asking for another subscription before restoring it. Ask buyers what happens to unused credits at renewal. Most cannot answer.

Use these. A buyer who has already been burned once is the easiest person in the room to help.

The Move to Make This Week

Run a 20-minute packaging review in your next deal cycle. One slide, three columns: what the competitor publishes, what the tier actually covers, and what the buyer must buy next to reach parity.

Populate it with this week's numbers. Ahrefs Brand Radar at €47/mo for custom prompts and €179/mo for the prompt index. Goodie AI at $399/mo Core and $999/mo Pro. Mercury Books at $35/mo, waived through 31 December 2026, as the bundling counter-example.

Then add three questions to every data-tool battlecard and make them mandatory in discovery: who collects the data and how often, what leaves our tenant through your AI connectors, and which tier the demo you saw was running on.

One more thing to note while you build it: Brandlight published a 'Brandlight vs Profound' comparison page and won Technology & Telecoms at the 2026 World Media Awards. Competitors are writing the comparison your buyers read. Be the sourced answer inside it, not the vendor absent from it.
